Mission Statement
“To know Jesus and make Him known”
Core Values
Biblical Teaching:
We believe the Bible, the infallible Word of God, to be the ultimate authority for our faith and lives. We passionately teach God’s Word in a manner that challenges seekers to find Christ and believers to mature.
World Missions: Spreading the gospel of Christ around the globe (Matthew 28:19)
We believe taking the good news of Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection to the ends of the earth is the privilege and purpose of every Christian. This involves relentlessly proclaiming the Gospel to all people near and far by equipping, sending, and supporting knowledgeable, compassionate servants.
Family: People immediately related to one another by birth and marriage (Eph. 5:22-31; Acts 2:42-47)
We believe God designed families as a foundation from which to build and strengthen spiritual and emotional well being through committed relationships between a husband and a wife, parents and children, and multi-generational families. We also lovingly embrace those disconnected from or without a family of their own, forming a new family that reflects the heart and character of God.
Worship: Attributing worth to God (Romans 12:1; Mark 12:30)
We believe the desire to worship Jesus Christ is an innate part of every believer. Therefore, we seek to promote a constant atmosphere of praise and thanksgiving including corporate praise, prayer, and practical acts of service.
Relationship: Relating to and enjoying time with others within the church (Mark 12:31; Acts 2:42-47)
We believe the connection between believers promotes and supports deep spiritual growth. Therefore, we foster relationships, work toward unity, and care practically, spiritually, and completely for individuals within the church body.
Service: Mobilizing the church body to be the hands and feet of Christ (James 1:27)
We believe God has given every believer gifts and abilities to encourage, build up, and strengthen other people as a means to express our love for Him. Therefore, we seek and develop opportunities to serve others selflessly, generously, and sacrificially for the glory of Jesus Christ.
Evangelism: Telling others the good news of Christ (Luke 15:4-7; Ephesians 6:19-20)
We believe followers of Christ should be actively involved in sharing their faith in Jesus with others. Therefore, we constantly look for ways to creatively tell others about the love of Jesus in a meaningful, relevant manner.
Vision Statement
Imagine a group of people completely surrendered to the idea that it’s all about Jesus. They are driven by His life and His word, and absolutely convinced of His love for their community. These people are so in love with Jesus they can’t contain their enthusiasm, or their joy at telling others His story. Young and old relish the privilege to gather in small and large groups, hungry for His word and faithful to plant it deep into the fabric of their lives. They worship together, serve together, play together, and live life in harmony with the singular goal of spreading the Gospel near and far. They are fire starters and seed throwers, hope peddlers and grace givers, risk takers and visionary dreamers. Their city will change because God sent them.
We envision a church invested in its community.
We see a church with open hearts, open minds, and open doors, so undaunted by cultural differences that people of every ethnic origin find acceptance and feel at home worshipping God together — uniquely and unified. We dream of a church where relevant opportunities such as English as a Second Language classes, Big Buddy Programs, and Picnics and Concerts in the Park events communicate to our neighbors that we value and support them.
We see a church that reaches beyond the borders of Diamond Bar, embracing neighbors in surrounding communities as part of our family and doubling the number of people in our congregation in active service projects.
We see a church so dissatisfied with disconnection that its people will knock on doors, initiate meaningful conversations, and intentionally, lovingly share the good news of Jesus Christ with someone new every day, adding at least 30 families a year and doubling in size by 2020.
We see a church whose people become the hands and feet of Jesus through small gestures like giving up their place in line or preparing meals for those unable, and large-scale events like theatrical productions and community awareness campaigns.
We see a church known for its authentic and consistent presence in the community — a group of people enthusiastic, eager, and marked by selfless service to others. We want to keep our pulse on the demographics and needs of the community and equip our pastoral team to connect with people in a contemporary and relevant style.
We envision a church unapologetically evangelistic.
We see a church mobilized throughout the neighborhood, the city, the state, the country, and the world—professing their faith to those within their realm of influence.
We see a church of individuals uniquely gifted by God to reach others through their own personal style, and using their talents to communicate God’s love in their schools, businesses, athletic teams, clubs, and homes; even beginning worship opportunities in unconventional venues such as nightclubs, pubs, coffee houses, and college campuses.
We see a church so passionate for the lost that they devote themselves to launching at least two new places of worship throughout Southern California over the next decade, diligently pursuing training as church planters, missionaries, lay leaders, and pastors in preparation to answer that call.
We see a church passionately committed to equipping all disciples to speak confidently about the Gospel to their closest friends and absolute strangers. We see that passion translating into a doubling of our short-term missionaries fueled by a sense of excitement and privilege in every parishioner, young and old alike.
We see a church so focused on God’s call, that making disciples becomes more than an aspiration; it becomes the force that drives us so intensely that we cannot sit still, we must get up and make God known. We see at least 10 new missionaries springing from this congregation within the next 10 years.
We envision a church bathed in prayer.
We see a church on its face before God, day and night, humbly seeking and sacrificing to bring about healing, restoration, and revival.
We see a church that bathes our city, country, and world in prayer, interceding on their behalf, and advocating repentance, wisdom, and courage.
We see a church where miracles not only occur, but are expected; a place known for fervent prayer and an unwavering faith that pleases God, aligns our will with His and compels us to achieve mighty works in His name.
We see a church that trains powerful people of prayer to cover the hurts of the marginalized, the decisions of leaders, the praises of believers, and the needs in God’s Kingdom; strong people of prayer equipped to raise up others as transformational disciples after Christ’s own heart.
We envision a church characterized by God-honoring excellence.
We see a church so committed to giving its all and its best for Christ that people will turn from their busy lives and draw near to the awe-inspiring presence of God.
We see a church that speaks excellence in its very appearance, and backs up that commitment by allotting finances and energy to improving facilities such as adding a permanent Welcome Booth equipped with laptops, increased professional signage, and potted trees with benches for shaded fellowship.
We see a church so committed to providing the very best for God’s Kingdom that we continually evaluate our facilities and remain open to expanding and improving our property in ways that communicate our dedication to excellence.
We see a church unified with a passion for excellence, never settling for average, never sacrificing quantity for quality, rejecting the distractions of mediocrity, bringing only the finest efforts to our Lord.
We see a church that presents the Living Word of God through programs, ministries, relationships, communications, and missions in a remarkable exaltation of God’s great glory.
We see a church that draws lost souls throughout the valley and all of Southern California by illustrating God’s majesty in every facet of our lives, inviting people to experience His presence, find His peace, and praise His name.
We envision a church filled with disciples.
We see a church brimming with leaders, lay people, and children walking in the Spirit and living by a faith that is so clear and so real it emanates from our very beings and compels those we meet to hunger and thirst for the Spirit that fills us.
We see a church of humble followers, guided and instructed through the faithful teaching of God’s Word, equally devoted to seeking truth as both a disciple and a discipler, and eager to learn as well as teach.
We see a church committed to the training and teaching of believers at the highest level and will partner with a local seminary to create a biblical training center where people can dive deep into the Word of God.
We see a church so evidently strengthened by the personal and spiritual growth cultivated by its small groups that the number of home studies doubles, and they innovatively reach out to those once hesitant to join by offering special interest groups for hikers, bikers, knitters, photographers, etc.
We see a church so compassionate and encouraging that people are drawn away from their despair in every school, business, and home into a circle of acceptance, warmth, and hope.
We see a church filled with people who constantly build up one another, nurture relationships, continually seek spiritual maturity, and always reach beyond issues of race, class, and culture.
We envision a church of generosity.
We see a church known for its undivided giving heart, always eager and willing to offer its first fruits with joy.
We see a church pressed down, shaken together, and running over with blessing because of its selfless generosity.
We see a church that not only tithes, but freely gives time, talents, labor, and possessions to spread the Gospel throughout Diamond Bar and beyond.
We see a church obedient to the point of sacrifice, filled with a faith that intimately knows God as the perfect provider, and models that faith so powerfully it compels others to seek the source of such grace and ultimately experience the overflowing love of Christ.
